The Three Ladies of Blues

The Three Ladies of Blues Show began in May 2001. The producer and founder is singer Joan Faulkner. The show has been existence 23 years to date.
The show is comprised of three African American singers representing the history of some of the most influential classic Blues Divas of the 1900's. Our show represents Blues Diva Gertrude Ma Rainey with her original song "See See Rider", Bessie Smith's big hit from the movie Saint Louis Blues written by W. C. Handy, Billie Holiday's original song "God Bless The Child That's Got His Own, and Ida Cox's song "Wild Women Don't Have the Blues" and more. The glamorous clothes feather boas, songs, and dance accompanied by a live band bring the vaudiville experience alive right before your very eyes.

In March of 2001, I received a call from Just Jazz Agency if I could put a Blues Show together with myself and two other singers. I replied of course. Or first show ws on 5 May 2001 in Burghausen, Germany. It rained but the audience stayed holding their umbrellas through the whole show. Our show was successful, with great reviews that we used for our first promotion.

The Three Ladies of Blues has performed in several German Cities: Frankfurt, Berlin, Munchen, Koln, Potsdam, Kaiserslautern, Karlsruhe, Wiesbaden, and several more. Also the show has performed throughout Europe: France, Italy, Switzerland, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, Spain, and parts of Africa as well Algiers, Tunisia, Emirates (Dubai) Turkey, India and more.
